Over the years, I have found that people want to help other people who are struggling. They just don’t know how – so they resort to saying “if you need anything, let me know.”
While the intentions are good, that doesn’t really help people who are so overwhelmed with life that they don’t even know WHAT would be helpful to them.
In this episode, author Sandra Peoples and I discuss what it’s REALLY like to be a special needs mom and how friends can help. It’s a really eye opening episode. Give it a listen, then share with a friend.
Author Sandra Peoples gets real about life as a special-needs mom and how listeners can support friends and families dealing with special needs in their homes. It’s easier than you think! Sandra and her family live outside of Houston, TX where she serves her church as co-director of the special-needs ministry. She’s the author of Unexpected Blessings: The Joys and Possibilities of Life in a Special-Needs Family and Held: Learning to Live in God’s Grip: A Bible Study for Special-Needs Parents
Facebook Group she recommends: Self Care for the Special Needs Mom
